Irene Tinagli – Keynote Speaker

Economist and Member of Italian Parliament

Graduated from Bocconi University with 110/110 and praise, Irene Tinagli has a Master of Science degree and a PhD (doctorate) in Public Policy and Management at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh (Pennsylvania, USA), where she specialized in economic development and innovation, and where she began her studies on creativity and urban economy with Professor Richard Florida.

In 2004, she wrote together with Richard Florida «Europe in the Creative Age», in 2005 «Italy in the Creative Age», and in 2007 «Sweden in the Creative Age», in collaboration with researchers at the University of Gothenburg.

In those years Tinagli is a consultant to the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs of the UN on issues of Knowledge Societies, contributing to the writing of the book «Understanding Knowledge Societies», published in 2005 by the United Nations.

In the same years, she works as a consultant for the European Commission and other bodies and regional governments in Italy and abroad.

In 2009, she arrives at Carlos III University of Madrid where she teaches Management and Organizations and conducts research on innovation policies and regional development.

In 2008, Tinagli starts her career as a columnist for the daily news La Stampa.

In March 2010, for «the professional skills, commitment to society and potential to contribute to shaping the future of the world» Tinagli is named Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum.

In 2013 she is elected into the Italian Parliament.

Since 2015, Tinagli is President of Think Tank iMille.
